• Kontraindikasi

  • JIKA KEBERHASILAN PERAWATAN PERIODONTAL TIDAK BISA DIPREDIKSI (MISAL PROGNOSIS HOPELESS)

  • POOR ORAL HYGIENE

  • jumlah gigi yang digunakan untuk stabilisasi tidak mencukupi

    luas permukaaan akar gigi goyang= luasgigi penyangga

    31=goyang, 41: sbg penyangga harus lebih besar

  • aktifitas karies yang tinggi→ di restorasi sekalian splinting aja

  • gigi berdesakan atau malposisi yang dapt pengaruh pada aplikasi splinting

  • JUMLAH RASIO GIGI YANG GOYANG DENGAN TIDAK GOYANG TIDAK BERIMBANG

  • AKTIFITAS KARIES YANG TINGGI

  • GIGI BERDESAKAN ATAU MALPOSISI YANG KOMPROMISE TERHADAP SPLINTING

• Seleksi Gigi Abutment Untuk Splinting

  • Ante (1926) Postulate :

    • periodontal membrane total di area abutment minimal sama/ lebih besar dibanding gigi yang ditahan

    “ The total periodontal membrane area of the abutment teeth must equal or exceed that of the teeth to be replaced “

    “ The length of the periodontal membrane attachment of an abutment tooth should be at least one-half or two-third of that of its normal root attachment

  • (Tylman and Malone, 1978)

    • gigi abutment:tidak boleh kegoyang, tidak boleh pelebaran ligamen periodontal
    • Teeth with mobility/widened periodontal ligament should be avoided as abutments for splinting
